RJ HAMPSHIRE
RJ Hampshire is another successful amateur trying to keep up with the pressures of the pro ranks. Nowadays it’s much harder to make it in the sport of motocross due to costs, payouts, risk, economy, etc. Fortunately, RJ was able to have a Geico Honda waiting for him when he turned pro. The pro ranks are easily taken for granted as amateur riders struggle once they
go racing with the best in the world. Its much easier said than done but Hampshire is putting in the work to get himself to the top spot. Now, RJ is most definitely a top ten rider, but is still looking for those familiar wins he had in his younger days. He started off his 2016 season with a very impressive first moto at Hangtown. He was able to finish inside the top five and has been trying to replicate the finish ever since. Just last weekend, he took a step in the right direction finishing inside the top ten in the second moto at High Point. He will be looking to build upon this finish and get better as the season goes on. Look for Hampshire to continue to gain the confidence that comes along with experience and be breaking back into the top 5 soon.
