Ken has competed in many track conditions all over the world. When he woke up to rain in Foxbourough, his game plan did not change and he was ready to get it done in Massachusetts. In first practice, Ken was able to get comfortable early and turned the 2nd fastest time. In the second session, Ken jumped to the top of the board with the fastest time of the day early. As the track dried even more, the times continued to drop and Ken finished up with the 3rd fastest time
going into the Heats. When 450 Heat 2 began, Roczen was ready to prove his dominance. After a few riders got stuck in the gate, Ken came out clean and was in the 2nd position behind Dungey. He made quick work of him and put himself in the lead just in time for the red flag to wave. They would re-rack the gate and try for the restart due to gate malfunction. When the gate dropped for the second time, it seemed to be a replay of the first attempt. Roczen got another 2nd place start and would make the pass on Dungey for the lead for the second time early in the first lap. He would take the win and go to the Main with the confidence to win. Kenny got a similar start in the Main and would find himself in 3rd place going through the first rhythm section.
