Jeremy woke up with a smile on his face as the rain was coming down in Massachusetts. He came
out in the first qualifying session and navigated the sloppy conditions like everyone assumed he would. He turned the fastest lap in the first session with a 1:11 and as the rain stopped, the lap times dropped significantly for the second session. Jeremy topped the list again in the final qualifying session and cut nearly 9 seconds off of his previous fast time. By heat race time, the sun had come out and the track was in much better condition. Jeremy went to the line with the determination to win. The gate dropped for 250 Heat 2, and Jeremy got off to a great jump but was pinched off in the first corner. He navigated through the carnage and was sitting 9th place halfway through the first lap. He put his head down and started picking guys off. By the beginning of lap 4, he had sliced and diced his way into the 3rd position but was still 8 seconds behind the leaders. He would finish 3rd, and go into the Main Event ready to get a better start. Jeremy got a mediocre start when the gate dropped for the race that counts and he had his work cut out for him. He made quick work of multiple riders and went from outside the top ten to 5th by the end of the first lap. On lap 5, He was able to make the pass on Bowers for 4th position and would put his head down and try and make up the gap to 3rd. Jeremy closed the gap quickly and by lap 9, he could see the leaders. He made the pass on McElrath for 3rd as the laps wound down and he had 2nd place, Stewart, in his sights. He caught him faster than anyone ex- pected and made the pass with 6 laps to go. He would begin to close the gap on the leader and with 4 laps to go, Jeremy began to show Davalos a wheel and pressured the rider into some mistakes. Davalos was able to regain his composure and would hold off the hard charging Martin. Jeremy would finish with a very impressive 2nd place in Massachusetts and now sits only 14 points behind Stewart in the standings.
