>> Being a native of the Midwest as an amateur motocross racer, you’re sure to come across the Spring Creek track at one point or another. Numerous Loretta Lynn regionals have been held here, and in order to get to the ranch, you would have to conquer the spectacular sands of Millville. And that is such the case for Chase Sexton, hailing from nearby northern Illinois; he couldn’t wait to get back to this area in front of some familiar faces. He would impress
all day long, putting both family and friends on his back, representing them in the highest regard. Charging down the likes of Mt.Martin early on, his speed when ripping the outside of the following right-hander was absurd. His technique was as awless as ever, and if he could replicate these antics in the moto’s, he knew he’d be sitting pretty once the overall was tallied. A fth place start would have him neck and neck with the points leaders of the divisions, and there was no question he was right where belonged. Soaring through the Red Bull, uphill triple section, his compact frame would allow him to vault into the air, landing the combination clean lap after lap. It was working, as he could be found holding off riders like Colt Nichols nearing the halfway point. He knew Savatgy was back there as well, and although he may be a tad younger in terms of experience, his maturity and composure was imminent, holding off these riders until the two-lap board would come out. He would hold them off, his team and crew ecstatic; eighth place was where he would register for the nish. An eighth place start would have him being forced to move up in the early going, where he would quickly nd himself in
a battle with Michael Mosiman. Lappers were coming into play, so he had to be decisive in where and how he went about hitting his marks. Mosiman would stay on his tail, as the inched towards Shane McElrath. Wheeling all the way through these consecutive roller sections, he was doing all he could to get the most out of his machine. Mosiman would remain knocking at the door as the white ag came out, but the Honda of Sexton was resilient until his charge to the end. Fifth place was his once jumping the nal takeoff, and the results board would place him for sixth overall.
