In the 65cc (7-11), he was able to replicate his good starts from the heat races and put himself in the top five on the first lap, passing Ryan Canaguier for the final podium spot early in the race. Capps then found himself in a vicious battle with Aiden Dickens throughout the middle portion of the race. The tight corners and methodical nature of the track forced him to take different lines, Dickens would take
the inside through the switchbacks and Capps would rail the outsides in an attempt to get the drive out of the corner. Eventually, it paid off on the 5th lap and he was able to make the move for 2nd place before Dickens made a mistake that put him down to 15th. Nicholas finished the race 12 seconds behind a flawless Matthew LeBlanc who cruised around in 1st from flag to flag. The 65cc (10-11) race saw Capps with his worst start of the weekend, coming around in 13th place on the 1st lap. He used some of the passing lines that he found in the first moto to make up four places on the 2nd lap and gradually climb his way back to 4th just behind Team Green’s Ryder DiFrancesco. Capps showed podium speed yet again, but was unable to make it happen due to a poor start.
