Chad Saultz had a somewhat disappointing weekend at the Daytona RCSX, failing to qualify out of the 250 B class for the main event. He had a horrible start in his heat which put him in 28th place on the 1st lap. Saultz did what he could to make up 10 positions and finish the heat in 18th, but it wasn’t enough to qualify and he was sent the LCQ where he finished 22nd after sustaining a crash
on the 2nd lap. The pure depth of the 250 B field is displayed perfectly when the LCQ was won by Mitchell Falk, an eventual main event winner. Saultz had better results in the 450B and 250B Limited classes where he qualified straight out of his heat races with a 12th and a 6th respectively. Unfortunately, he just wasn’t able to put a full race together which boiled down to the importance of the start. It seemed to tell the story of the entire weekend, from one class to another. Saultz started mid-pack in both of his main events and did well to claw his way back to a 12th in the 250 B Limited and a 13th in the 450 B Limited. He found himself in a battle for position with Cory Carste, son of Barry Carsten, in both of his motos. The two of them swapped places and finished less than two seconds apart from each other in both motos. All in all, Chad was able to put up decent results in both the main events that he qualified for and he is constantly improving as a B Class rider in the process.
