Matthew Leblanc may be young, but he has the consistency like a pro. Finishing first in his 65
(7-11) and 85 (9-11) heats and 3rd for his 65 (10-11) class set him on the right track for his mains.
He led the perfect race. With a great gate pick, Leblanc set his KTM out front and never looked back. With laptimes varying be- tween 1:03 and 1:04, Nicholas Capps and Aidan Dickens had difficulties keeping up with the #329. Roles were reversed in his 85 (9-11) as Leblanc was the one chasing down young Jett Reynolds. Reynolds got a better start than Leblanc and managed to cre- ate an 8 second gap as Leblanc was trying to fight off traffic behind him. As Matthew created a gap behind him and 3rd place, he was able to focus on new lines and dropping laptimes in hopes of catching Reynolds. With his fastest lap being a 1:01.4 on the fourth lap, Leblanc was reeling in Reynolds at about 2 seconds a lap, until Reynolds realized the pressure the #329 was putting on him and turned up the speed a bit. By the end of the moto, Leblanc was only a few seconds away from Reynolds. Matthew had a very good weekend with very consistent laptimes and some solid rides. He would finish his 2016 RCSX experience with a win after avoiding pile ups, and keeping his head down and charging every lap. Good job Matthew!
