>> Yamalube/ Star Racing/ Yamaha’s Dylan Ferrandis arrived at Southwick in search of a podium finish after his fifth place overall at Redbud last weekend. The Wick is known for being one of the most unique tracks on the circuit due to its hybrid of deep sand with a hard-packed base that creates obstacles for many riders. The number 108 out of France lined up for the first 250 moto of the day prepared to take on anything and everything that Southwick had to offer. If any- one is used to adapting to new things, it’s Dylan Ferrandis. The gates dropped and momentum was everything as racers dug through the deep and sandy start straightaway. Ferrandis found himself in the fourth place spot and the battles were heating up. RJ Hampshire was out front with Alex Martin, Plessinger, and Ferrandis following behind. After a mistake by Hampshire that sent him back to fourth, it was now a three-way battle for the lead between A. Martin, Plessinger, and Ferrandis. By the halfway point of the moto, Dylan Ferrandis found himself in second behind Alex Martin and he soon makes his way into the lead. Unfor- tunately, after a front end tuck, Ferrandis went down. After a quick redemption, he was able to stay in second place. It seemed as if this fall fueled a fire within Ferrandis as he closed back in on Alex Martin and once again made a pass in to the lead. What a comeback for Dylan Ferrandis as he crossed the checkered flag in first place! With a much deserved moto win under his belt, it was time to head into the second moto searching for the same kind of victorious results. Im- mediately off the start of moto number two, Ferrandis found himself in an awe- some second place spot. Inclement weather struck around the halfway point of the moto, creating new and challenging obstacles for the riders. Dylan Ferrandis stayed strong and threw the hammer down when it became necessary, while of course maintaining his smooth and effortless style all the way to the finish line, where he finished in second place. What an incredible ride by Dylan Ferrandis, hopefully he can bring his second place overall finish confidence with him to Spring Creek for round eight and find himself on the podium again.
