RESULTS DONOTLIE
confidence, would pay off, as he crossed the line in second, ready to receive the huge trophy he rightfully deserved. He would then back it up in the motocross portion of the event. Excelling as the track got rougher, he could be seen wheeling and wheel-tapping the rollers on the far side, keeping the
cross, as Dilon was bouncing from bowl turn to bowl turn, using just the inertia of his wheels to find the flow of the corners, never ever coming to a complete stop. His eyes
in a constant gaze forward, he was able to see lines and disasters before they struck. It would keep him out of harms way, some-
thing that would come
in handy as they loaded the gate for the heat race series. He would knock off outstanding finish after outstanding finish, always in contention for the lead. Looking to keep the bow of his KTM ship pointed forward, he would set
sail into the wind, leaping far and wide across the technical supercross course. Two fifth place finishes, coupled with a second place in the 65cc (10-11) Limited class, had him sitting in an optimal position as the main events approached. He was just near the top five for a large portion of the 65cc (10-11) class, and decided to flip the switch
as the checkered flag loomed near. It would work, as by the time the final lap would conclude, he would be sitting just where
he wanted, in a noteworthy fifth place.
The main event would
be where the magic
happened though, as a
strong start had him in
great position to excel.
He could almost taste
the hardware associated
with the podium, and
boy did he work for it lap
after lap. Finally, as the
white flag would come
about, the third place
spot would be his! And
on to motocross he went.
The numerous strong
finishes would keep
coming, where his best
showing would come in
all actuality. Never afraid
to twist the throttle, it
was though the faster he
went, the more comfort-
able he would feel. A
sixth overall would be a spectacular showing in the 85cc (9-11) Limited class, and he would attempt to best it with the remaining
two classes. Another third, would result in bronze medal again being hung around his neck. And last but definitely not least, an applaud worthy second, and second per- formance would piece him in the runner-up postion overall. Excellent job, Dilon!
CHASE ANDERSEN
When you think of the state of Alaska, many thoughts tend to flock towards the enormous amounts of ice, frigid temperatures, and even the occasional polar bear. And while all that may be true, they do have a bit of prominent motocross scene, and not even
in regards to the typical ice racing that one may assume. With riders like Ben Lamay setting the tone, it paved the way for riders like Chase Andersen to come to the conti- nental forty-eight, chasing their dreams of professionalism. And all though the trip from one side of the states to other may seem like eternity, the pure chase of thrill and adrenaline had all in the crew captivated as they loaded up and headed to the roadways. Unloading the Husqvarna machines from the race trailer, those who were parked near them were in a bit of awe at the amount of professionalism that the team carried. The bikes were manicured to the hilt, every piece of equipment was in uniform, and Chase was as serious as they came when getting prepared to climb aboard his motorcycle.
It would translate to the racetrack as well.
A supercross specialist in his own right, Andersen was weaving his way through traf-
throttle pinned in constant fashion, never chopping the constant propulsion. Jump-
ing up the multiple step-ups, he would leap outbound of the Gator pit, looking to settle into a multitude of top five finishes. Landing just outside in sixth place, for an overall outing of the 65cc (10-11) group, he would look to further his average finish, in the other two 65cc categories. And he would do so, keeping the KTM screaming around the line, landing with both a fifth place overall in the 65cc (10-11) Limited class, along with the 65cc (7-11) group. Strong rides all around, would boost his confidence as he rode into the New Year.
DILON BLECHA
The town of Fruita, Colorado, was provid- ing the Blecha family with plenty of support as they headed off again, to conquer the dreams of motocross stardom. Traveling all across the country for the duration of 2018, they’ve poured absurd amounts of blood, sweat, and tears, in order to see the rider sporting their last name succeed. No matter the cost of entry fee, gasoline, or lodging prices, they were willing to put their name in the hat, all aspiring to be held in the highest regard off of their outstanding results. And it would be apparent in practice for super-
fic throughout the practice sessions. He took it as a blessing in disguise, as if he were to ever get a bad start throughout the week,
