family and friends, taking in the likes of the track and get a nice adrenaline thrill; but deep down, he wanted to test himself against
the best in his division, leaving it all on the line one final for time the 2018 season. Sporting a number 78 Kawasaki, he knew the familiar likes of Treadwell, Pamart, Grewe, and May would loom around him. However, if he could just get out to a decently clear position, and get the pace of the front-runners, he truly believed he could hold his own. Signing up for a whopping five classes over the course of both SX and MX, he’d wanted to make his stay in Florida worthwhile, as he’d done this event a time or two. Leaving the likes of the pro classes behind, he solely wanted to focus on riders of his age, hoping to walk away with eye opening results. His quest would begin on the Super- cross course, where a fifth in 40+, and fourth in 35+, would have him in an optimal position to make moves, come time for the main event. Backing up his heat race performances like he had hoped, two fifth place rides would summarize his SX efforts, leaving him with two top fives and a bit of confidence as he walked next door to the MX layout. For the first round of MX contention, a tenth in 30+ would be topped with both a sixth and fifth place finish in the 35 and 40+ respectively. An all out war amongst the top dogs of the class, Parsons would be- gin to put his best foot forward as the week went on. Flowing in and out of turns, and riding as efficient as possible, he would come away with a ninth overall in the hard-charging 30+ division, with a seventh in the 35+ class. The pieces would then fall into place as the time of 40+ came around, and he looked to thrive with this one final moto. With excellent positioning off the start, he had to deal with the likes of Grewe, and Treadwell, knowing that they faired well in overall stand- ing. Never backing down to a heated battle, he would lunch forward, attempting to ruffle the leaders feathers by showing them a wheel. It would pay dividends for him in the long run though, as his chasing of the leaders would help settle into third place; it was here, where he would stay, claiming a noteworthy third overall.
CORY BRANTLEY
Residing out of Rogers, Arkansas, Cory Brantley loaded his freshly tuned Yamaha and an abundance of camping supplies to the Ga- torback Cycle Park, spending his Thanksgiving Holiday under the

bright stars of Northern Florida. Choosing to forego his typical family operations, he would trek to the southeast in hopes of walking away with solid finishes, all the while having fun. He knew his work would be cut out for him though, seeing the roster sheet and recognizing names like Ginolfi and Treadwell. Although confident in his own right, he assumed he would get the best effort from his competition, so he came to the line ready to pack a bunch and put his name in the hat for podium contention. Feeling the flow early on throughout out his heat race, Brantley was taking the track by storm, finding lines in just a bit of different fashion than the rest of the field. Choosing to solely focus on this 35+ class, he had to make these moto’s class, as he simply had no place for redemption. With Ginolfi out front early on, Brantley knew about where the likes of Treadwell were, and eyed
the former professional standout. Never once flinching in the likes of Treadwell’s presence, he would gravitate toward podium positioning with every laps passing. Keeping the bike upright and clean, he knew that this race would be one of attrition. Facing the likes of only the checkered flag, he would go on to take third. Hoping to duplicate his first moto efforts, the run-off seemed to be the same song and dance. With Ginolfi looking to squirm away with the victory, Treadwell would make his way into second, with Matt Powers out of Fremont, Michi- gan in tow. Feeling a bit of pressure from Powers, Brantley would up his game, and head towards the final flag, claiming third overall. He would continue to push the pace in the outdoor realm of things, living large in the first moto with a seventh place finish. Although encoun- tering a bit of a rough going in his final race of the week, when both scores were added together, he would be penciled in to ninth overall. All in all Brantley agreed the trip was a success; going home rela- tively unscathed and living to ride another day was all that mattered. Plus, he has a some mighty hardware to take with him for a lifetime to come!
