>> The Midwest can be summarized as hard-working, blue collared families, who eagerly search to make an honest living. Good-hearted people, always willing to go the extra mile to provide, they expect the same mentality and effort when viewing their favorite athletes; in this case, riders on the Lucas Oil Pro National tour. An immediate crowd favorite, Cooper Webb’s heart and tenacity to push forward, no matter the circumstance or track condition, was captivating the crowd from the moment he stepped foot on the racetrack. It was embodied for the likes of moto one, as his jump off the line found him submerged amongst the best in the world, as the stormed around the slight bend, and into the gigantic left off-camber that followed. A train effect, the field would cycle into a funnel, swirling round and round the track, each rider latching onto one another’s back wheel. Launching up the ungodly monster of a triple, the fans were towel-waving and screaming to the top of their lungs, every time his bike would blast off the runway. Motivating him each and every lap, his positions were steadily solid, bar-banging with the likes
of Eli Tomac, while nipping at the rear tread of Cole Seely. He would hang on in the final few laps, taking sixth place for the moto. The second round, saw Webb with a sixth place start, and quickly work his way around holeshot artist Matt Bisceglia. Pivoting forward through every portion of the track,
his small stature was really playing into effect along some of these looming straight aways. Staying solid in sixth for the majority of the moto, he would sprint passed Bogle on lap eight, all the while fending off a tad bit of pressure from Eli Tomac. Remaining composed, he would reside here until the finish, capping off a 450 season in fifth overall, and looking to build in the coming months.
