>> La Moille, Illinois native Chase Sexton had to have been excited to line up at Ironman with the cheers of his hometown crowd filling the air. The number 486 was off to an incredible start in the last first 250 moto of the day when he came out of the first corner in the fourth place spot. After a pass on Cantrell, Sexton quickly moved into the third place position. Lap after lap, Sexton impressed everyone on his GEICO Honda machine, hold- ing tightly onto third place. Unfortunately, as we all know too well, disaster can strike at anytime in motocross and with only two laps remaining, Chase Sexton went down. The checkered flag flew and Sexton finished the first moto in tenth place. Sexton definitely proved himself by riding his own for so long in third place, and had to have been on the hunt for the podium
as he lined up for the second moto. The thirty-second board went up, the gates dropped, and the 250 riders were off for the final moto of the season. Sexton was off to another decent start and found himself sitting in sixth place early in the race. After a crash from Plessinger, Chase Sexton moved into fifth, and stayed there for a majority of the race, but was passed by a very determined RJ Hampshire before the checkered flag flew. With a 10-6 for the day, Sexton left Indiana with a sixth place overall, but his perfor- mance within these motos really showed us all what this young rider is truly capable of achieving.
