>> Dean Wilson was once considered as the future of the sport when he turned pro in 2010 according to many fans and specialists of the sport. Dean came into the scene showing much promise and was a competitor for wins every time he lined up behind the gate. Since Dean has had many set backs, Most of them being injuries. The injury list kept pilling up and Deans appear- ance on the track was sparse. This resulted in Deano having no luck in find- ing support for 2017. Dean bet on himself and started a privateer effort in
the supercross series, the bet paid off as he was able to catch the eye of the manager of the Rockstar factory Husqvarna team who offered him support for the rest of the year. After Dean started to put together some very respectable results the team offered him a contract for 2018 as well. Talk about the ultimate comeback story.
This weekend at the Ironman national Dean was suffering with an illness that left him with next to zero energy out on the track. That being said the #15 still fought hard to finish 10th overall.
Moto one Dean started mid pack and came around in 16th after the opening lap. After five minutes of racing Wilson was in 13th. Dean fought hard to catch up to Justin Bogle for 11th, the two exchanged positions a couple of times but Dean ultimately had nothing for Bogle in the final stages of the race and had to settle for 12th. Dean got a top ten start in race two, sadly for him some fast riders started behind him and they made their way through. At one point in the race Dean was all the way back to 14th before make a late push to get back to 10th. A good result to finish the season for Deano. Lets see what he can ac- complish after a year on his Husky.
