Kessler made a step in the right direction on the second day of racing, excelling in more challenging conditions due to a morning rain delay. The track was inconsistent in the morning and early afternoon; certain sections on low ground were mucky and treacherous and other sectors of the track were more or less like a day at the beach, but it made no
difference to the Michiganian. Kessler found his flow on the second day of racing and racked up three wins, but an unfortunate crash in his final moto of
the day left him with a contusion in his hip and lower back. Considering he was in position to win some championships, he did what many motocross athletes would do in that situation and lined up on the gate
