>> After much criticism, Kyle Chisolm made the jump down to the smaller bore machine for the 2017 season. Kyle proved the critics wrong as he had many impressive showings on the 250 and still put in top twenty finishes in the 450 class when the series went east. He was now ready to end his 250 season with a bang when the windy day began in the desert. He put on a fantastic showing in the qualifying session and looked very comfortable.
As the 250 West Heat began, Kyle knew he had to lay it all on the line and he did just that. He launched off the gate and charged down the long start straight. He managed to slip into an impressive 3rd position and was doing everything he could to hold off the hungry riders behind him. Chisolm unfortu- nately lost the position quickly to Davalos but kept him honest for a couple of laps. Kyle was eventually challenged again by a few more riders and ended up with a hard fought 8th place. In the Main, Kyle didn’t get the best start
due to an outside gate position. He did his best to avoid the chaos in the first corner and came out in about 10th. By the time the riders crossed the line for the green flag, Kyle was counted in 11th. Then, as lap two came to a close, the slick Vegas soil got the best of Kyle. He lost four positions but was able
to regain his composure and was running just inside the top fifteen. He then found himself battling for the 16th position as he was passed multiple times. He put his head down and found some extra speed to take the positions back which would eventually solidify a 16th place finish. Not a bad way to finish the season.
