>> Riding consistent races all season the Geico Honda rider Jimmy Decotis was on the hunt for a podium finish. Ending up 4th two times this season he was right there. Heading into Vegas it was the Geico Honda riders last chance to get onto that podium, but with the added challenge of the East coast riders in the mix it wasn’t going to be easy. Getting a killer jump out of the gate for his heat race, Decotis was first to the turn. Holding onto his lead he never looked back. Moving onto the main event victorious, it was shaping up to be a great night for him. Looking for similar results out of the gate he charged out of the gate in the main event, but was pushed back to 11th around the first turn. A few minutes into the race he moved
up to 9th place. Catching his teammate Mcadoo, the Honda rider worked his way around him and into 8th place. Each lap he was getting faster and continued making passes. With only five minutes left of the race he was sitting in 7th place. Mellross began to fade really bad and Decotis got one more pass before the finish. Rounding out a successful year Jimmy Decotis finished off the last main event of the year with a 6th place overall. Staying consistent all season and never finishing outside of the top ten he finished fifth overall in points.
