What went Down
One of the favorites to click off a win at Anaheim 1, Eli Tomac of Cortez, Colorado entered the first round ready to prove he and his new Kawa- saki are here to win. Eli qualified second setting himself up nicely for the night of racing to follow. Starting inside of the top three, Eli was in the run early on. The top ten was a constant battle with riders constantly shuffling. Eli bounced around from third to fifth keeping it interesting for the entire race. Tomac’s Kawasaki was able to slip into the fourth place spot with about five to go and stick there for the duration of the main event. You can’t win it all at round one but you can certainly lose it and Eli’s efforts were just what he needed to begin the year and let the title fight begin.
