>> It’s not often that you hear about a professional dirt bike racer be-
ing enrolled in full time school, let alone college. Usually when you have a professional racing career in your grasp you are home schooled for
as long as possible until usually just giving up on school to chase your dreams. Josh Cartwright is one of the exceptions, as he and his fam-
ily decided schooling was going to be top priority instead of racing. The privateer rider has been a big name in the arenacross series and has been recently making his mark in the supercross series. The MX Culture Yamaha rider was in a direct transfer out of his heat race to the main event when he made a mistake with just over a minute +1 lap remaining. Josh pulled out of the race and began to prepare for the Last Chance Qualifier. The #93 got off to a great start rounding the first corner in 3rd position. It didn’t take Cartwright long to get around Sizemore for 2nd where he would settle in and coast his way to the main event. Cartwright must’ve fallen on lap one as he came around well behind the rest of the field at the end of the opener. It looked as if Josh’s night was a lost cause but he continued to work hard and make his way to the other riders. Mid- way through the race Cartwright caught up to Jerry Robin, the two battled over 21st position for over a lap before Cartwright was able to secure the spot. Even though Cartwright was in a terrible position since the begin- ning of the race his determination carried him on throughout the rest of the main event, he was able to capitalize on fallen riders and come home in 17th.
