>> Dylan Ferrandis’ inaugural season in the United States has been a success so far. The rider hailing from France has put his Star Racing Yamaha inside the top seven
at all but one round. His speed has been nearly on pace with the title contenders
as we see him battling with them on a weekly basis. His solid starts have certainly helped him run up front and make some noise in America and he is certainly letting the people know who he is. His most impressive performance came one week ago
at Daytona where he finished third place. He rode hard up to that podium spot and was overcome with emotion on the podium. He was living out his lifelong dream of succeeding in AMA Supercross and he aimed to continue doing so this weekend in Indianapolis.
Ferrandis once again looked solid in qualifying practice coming away with the fifth fastest lap time. He was more than ready to line up and go head to head yet again with the talented East Coast riders. He got a good start in his heat race in fourth posi- tion. He slotted in right behind Joey Savatgy but would go down violently in the whoop section simultaneously with the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider. The two went down in the same spot but each on their own. Ferrandis climbed back on his bike in fifteenth place and furiously charged forward. He passed several riders and in just three laps he had already climbed into a transfer position. He would pick up on more spot on the final lap to finish an impressive eighth place with the tough crash.
The Frenchman got out to another nice holeshot in the main event grabbing the green flag in fifth place. He remained steady in that position for a handful of laps before pressure from Cianciarulo got to him causing him to bobble. He fell back to eighth place where he found himself right behind his teammate Mitchell Harrison. The team- mates battled for a while into the second half of the race before Ferrandis was able to sneak by and take over seventh. Harrison tried coming back but Ferrandis held strong and would finish in that seventh-place position. It was a good performance from the Frenchman even with the big mistake. He may have even had another top five if he was able to keep it on two wheels. Look for him to redeem himself and keep it on two wheels next weekend in Detroit.
