With the sun beginning to crest, all eyes were upon 250 heat one. Savatgy dug the Dunlop tread into the ground immediately, rapidly shifting from second to third, and rallied to an early lead. As Christian Craig quickly moved into the runner-up position, Savatgy knew he had to sprint, and establish a lead. As each lap began to tick away, however, the Geico rider began to inch nearer and nearer. Like a championship contender should, the Pro Circuit rider remained
steadfast and held onto the lead, taking the heat race win.
Lap one of the 250 main event saw Savatgy pocket the dreaded black ball on the table, landing in eighth across timing and scoring. With Webb just in front of him, the red plate acted as the carrot on the line, dangling just out of his reach. Fifth by lap four, he mimicked every move Cooper made, juking throughout the field. Fourth with eight to go, he put a fading Alex Martin in the dust, obtaining the final podium spot by the halfway point. With a battle brewing just ahead in the latter moments of the event, Savatgy held down a solid effort on the last step of the box; he would finish there, maintaining second in the points standings.
