>> John Moeller had a nearly perfect week of racing at the 2017 JS7 Freestone Spring Championship. The Texas native contested the Junior (25+) class as well as the 250 A class, proving his ability to still run with the young guns on a YZ250. Moeller completely dominated the Junior (25+) class as he earned himself two moto victories in dominant fashion, seemingly floating around the track on his two-stroke machine. The rider out of Texas was able to carry his momentum through the deep ruts of Freestone County Raceway, utilizing his impeccable starting form in order to ride a clear track and put himself in position for each and every victory. In the opening Junior (25+) moto, Moeller did exactly that as he grabbed the early advantage and laid down the fastest lap time of the race on the first time of trying. The high pitched ring of his two-stroke cut through the crisp country air as he separated himself from the rest of the field almost instantaneously. The #27 Yamaha rider backed it down towards the end of the race with a sizable gap in hand, eventually crossing the finish line ahead of Clayton Miller with an advantage of more than five seconds. In the final moto, Moeller ripped down the start straight in fine fashion as he pulled another holeshot, setting himself up with a clear track yet again. He put in a couple of sprint laps up until the midway point of the race, setting the fastest time of the moto with a lap almost three seconds faster than any of his competitors. Once he built a comfortable gap, Moeller did his best to maintain the lead and manage the gap to those behind him, cross- ing the finish line with an advantage of more than five seconds on his way to the number one plate.
