>> Braydon Comerford laid down some impressive rides throughout the week of racing at the 2017 JS7 Freestone Spring Championship. The rider out of Fort Myers, Florida put his Cobra machine in a podium posi- tion in four out of six motos that he contested -- he finished strongly in
the 51cc (4-6) Special Limited class with a pair of third place finishes,
and most notably swept the 51cc (4-5) Limited class with a pair of first place finishes on his way to the title. The young Floridian kept things simple in the opening 51cc (4-5) Limited moto as he secured the holeshot and jumped out to an early lead. He managed to build a whopping gap
of almost twenty seconds on the opening lap, gradually increasing the advantage throughout the race as he set the fastest lap times of the moto in the process. Comerford was riding in a league of his own from the gate drop to the checkered flag and eventually crested the finish line with an advantage of almost forty seconds ahead of the riders behind him. He was as equally impressive in the second moto as he shot out of the gate to a tremendous start that placed him in a battle with his fellow statesman, Evan Cole, on the opening lap. Comerford was able to secure the lead
by the end of the opening lap and he immediately put his head down and charged forward with the open track in front of him. The young Floridian laid down the fastest time of the moto on the second lap and increased his lead to almost ten seconds, separating himself from the pursuing pack. From that point forward, Comerford was able to keep it smooth and consistent on his way to an uncontested victory, and the accompanying national title.
