>> Seth Dennis had a stellar week of results at the 2017 JS7 Freestone Spring Championship in his return to Freestone County Raceway. The little ripper out of Florida managed to grab a title at the very same race in 2016 and he was looking to back it up this year with another number one plate. Dennis entered the 51cc (6-7) Limited class, the 51cc (7-8) Limited class,
and the 51cc (4-8) Limited class. The newest member of the Team Dunlop Elite program was able to show his speed in all three classes, but he really stuck out in the (6-7) Limited class with a pair of podium finishes, including
a victory. The #930 KTM rider was able to overcome a little bit of adversity
in the opening moto after shooting out to an early lead. He accumulated a gap of approximately one second ahead of his fellow statesman, Jonathan Getz, but unfortunately made a mistake on the second lap that dropped him back to fourth place. From that point forward, Dennis did his best to recover
a nine second gap to the leader over the course of the next couple of laps
-- he was able to make his way past Mikah Carpenter on the following lap, and then overtake Jesse James Shedden just before the checkered flag. Although he made a slight mistake at the beginning of the moto, Dennis put
in an inspired ride to come back from a sizable deficit and put pressure on the leader, setting up a battle for the overall heading into the final moto. When the gate dropped on the second race, Dennis fired out of the gate into the first corner and grabbed the early advantage ahead of his competitors. He made
it easy on himself as he led the race from start to finish, resisting pressure from Carpenter with the first moto winner, Getz, back in third position. Dennis controlled the race and the overall victory from the lead, making it two years in a row with a number one plate in Wortham, Texas.
