>> Austin Camden had an incredibly successful week at the 2017 JS7 Freestone Spring Championship, coming away with three moto victories as well as two third place finishes. The Californian laid the heat down in Texas in all three of his classes; finishing third overall in 51cc (7-8) Limited, second overall in 65cc (7-8) Limited, and first overall in the 51cc (4-8) Limited class. Camden showed his speed and consistency in the (4-8) class as took both moto victories in dominant fashion. In the first moto, the #191 Cobra rider blasted to the front of the pack like a rocket and never looked back, leading the race from the gate drop to the checkered flag ahead of Mikah Carpenter and Nate Hummel. Camden executed the optimal line on the track with unmatched consistency as all three of his lap times were within a couple tenths of one another. He was able to remain composed under pressure from both Carpenter and Hummel at some point in the race, but he was not at all phased by their ad- vances as he held on until the checkered flag. In the second moto, Camden had the same exact plan of attack as he got out to an early lead. This time he was able to pick up the pace in the early stages of the race and build a bit of a gap which he was able to maintain for the remainder of the moto. He never surrendered the lead as
he withstood another late race charge from Carpenter, setting his personal best lap of the moto on the final time around the circuit, subsequently earning himself the number one plate.
