>> Consistency is one of the most important traits to learn for a young up and comer in this sport. Mitchell Harrison has shown that he is a consis- tent top 10 threat and with a good start can even run inside the top 5. He has finished right around 10th in almost every moto this season and has shown flashes of exceptional speed. The Yamaha pilot was coming into this weekend’s round off of another 10th place overall at Thunder Val- ley, looking to keep the ball rolling. The track was very muddy in practice due to some rain on Thursday and Friday, so Mitchell, along with oth- ers, wasn’t his normal self in practice. He only managed to qualify 17th, almost 7 seconds off the fastest lap of the session. The good news was that the 450 riders were racing first this weekend so he and the other 250 riders would have a better race track for their first moto of the day. Har- rison started decent and was mid pack going into the first turn. He battled most of the moto to make it to 11th and was unable to climb any further. He showed he had the speed to finish better in the next moto, turning his fastest lap in the same second range as everyone in front of him except the leader and podium finishers. Just like all the previous rounds of the series, Harrison backed up his first moto score with another solid top 10, finishing 9th in moto 2. That was good enough to finish 10th overall. That seems to be exactly where the Yamaha rider belongs currently. It hasn’t mattered where he starts, he has often ended up either a few spots in front of 10th or a few behind. Look for more of the same out of him in round 5 at Muddy Creek.
