woman Adaia Lopez Esteve bites boyfriend’s tongue off after break-up is now facing 8 years jail as trial date looms.
A Spanish wom an faces the prospect of eight years jail after allegedly biting off her ex boyfriend’s tongue after asking for one last kiss upon the man break- ing up with her.
Local media reported Adaia Lopez Esteve, 24 from Barcelo na allegedly tearing off her then 42 year old boyfriend’s tongue in June 2017 and spit- ting it out onto the floor before running away.
Facing eight years prison, the victim’s lawyers
have demanded the former girl- friend be jailed for ten years.
The couple met online in December 2016 and endured a
tumultuous two- month relation- ship before part- ing in February 2017.
The victim, who has not been named, was
reportedly ‘fed up of Esteve’s mood swings’.
Shortly after the initial breakup, they restarted their relationship – but the
boyfriend decid- ed to break up with her again just four months later.
Esteve is said to have reacted aggressively to his decision, storming out of the flat before returning to apologize for her behavior.
She allegedly then hugged her boyfriend and asked him for one ‘last
kiss’, which she took advantage of by biting off his tongue, rip- ping it out of his mouth and spit- ting it onto the floor, local news- paper El Taquigrafo repor ted.
Esteve then ran away, leaving her ex-boyfriend bleeding on the floor.
A neighbor heard the boyfriend’s screams and ran to help- with the
man taken to hospital where doctors man- aged to stop the bleeding.
Esteve was reportedly arrested by Catalan police but refused to give a state- ment.
She was released but the investigation has now concluded and she has been charged with causing injuries and will be called to the stand in Barcelona Provincial Court the dailymailre- ported.
Esteve has denied the events and instead has reported her for- mer lover for domestic abuse, saying he had tried to suffocate her as she left his flat.
It is unclear when the trial will take place.
