Teacher Brought To Tears After Students Put Their Money Together To Replace His Stolen Shoes
A Nebraska teacher was brought to tears when his stu- dents used their own money to buy him a new pair of shoes because his were stolen according t o FOX 26. Trey Payne is an 8th- grade teacher and basketball coach at Logan Fontenelle Middle School in Bellevue,
NE. Recently Payne’s favorite basketball shoes were stolen from his office.
Several students were upset when they found out and wanted to something about it. A mother of one of the stu- dents told FOX 5 her daughter and classmates
raised money to buy Payne a new pair of
shoes. Once the students put their money together they were able to purchase the shoes. In a video posted to Twitter,
the students sur- prised Payne with the brand new Nike Zoom KD12 basketball shoes.
The video begins showing Payne getting teary-
eyed as he reads the card and opens the bag he says, “I hope this isn’t shoes
guys. Oh my, are you serious?”
Once he opened the box with the
shoes inside his emotions over- took him. Payne took off his glass- es and started to cry as the kids gathered around him for a group hug.
“He would do
anything for any of his students and turns out they would do the same for him,” the mother told FOX 5.
