Lady Gaga’s Dog
Walker Had Part Of
His Lung Removed
By Lars Brandle
Lady Gaga's dog- walker is on the road to recovery, more than a month after he was viciously attacked on the street in Los Angeles.
Ryan Fischer was shot and left for dead by two sus- pects, who stole the French bull- dogs he was walking, pets that belonged to Gaga.
The violent dog- napping incident on Feb. 24 made international headlines, and blew up when Gaga offered a $500,000 reward for the safe return of her pooches.
In a new social media post, Fischer recounts his long recovery, from “bleeding out on a sidewalk,” to
“overly-active ICU patient,” and “just waiting for my lung to heal so I could go home.”
Fischer endured a setback when, he explains, doctors identified a col- lapsed lung which required immedi- ate surgery, and a partial removal.
In a video accom- panying the post, Fischer can be seen preparing for his journey out into the wider world, carefully and slowly dress- ing himself while removing his gown, sound- tracked by Carly Simon’s “Coming
Around Again.”
For a brief moment, we get a glimpse at the injuries he sus- tained.
“Along with accepting the news that I was about to be read- mitted,” he admits, “several
nurses and doc- tors told me how they had been in the room when I came in with my gunshot. How they didn’t think I was going to make it.”
Fischer did make it, he's out of hos- pital, and the missing dogs
were recovered unharmed after a woman brought them to the LAPD’s Olympic Community Police Station.
Police have yet to identify any sus- pects.
