(CNN) - A former contractor claims working for TikTok caused her to develop PTSD.
Candie Frazier is suing the social media platform and its parent company ByteDance.
Frazier said she worked as a con- tent moderator on the platform and spent 12-
hour days reviewing disturb- ing videos, including ones featuring graphic violence against children and ani- mals.
She said the company did not provide adequate protections or psychological support for the moderators.
Frazier said the work caused her
anxiety, depres- sion and post- traumatic stress disorder.
TikTok would not comment on the lawsuit, but in a statement the company said they “continue to expand on a range of wellness services so that moderators feel supported men- tally and emo- tionally.”
KimJong Il, Inventor of The Burrito?NorthKoreanState Media Makes Strange Claim
By Sarah Yukiko
North Korean state media has claimed Kim Jong-Il invented “wheat wraps,” which closely resemble bur- ritos.
In a propaganda video from Pen News, a street food stand outside the Kumsong Food Factory in Pyongyang was shown selling “wheat wraps” to people, including children and soldiers. More shots displayed an industrial kitchen with trays full of fill- ing, which appeared to con- tain vegetables like cabbage and carrots. Spinning meat resembling an al pastor trompo could also be seen in some shots.
It is unclear who in North Korea has access to the burrito-adjacent “wheat wraps.” North Koreans have historically faced food short- ages, with the COVID pan- demic increasing food insta- bility in the country. Farming issues and vulnerability to climate change may create additional problems for peo- ple there.
While the more precise ori- gins of the burrito are unde- termined, they are known to have originated somewhere in Mexico and have existed since at least the 1900s, growing popular in the U.S. in the 1950s.
