Wife Walks Husband On A Leash To Bypass Covid-19 Curfew
A husband and a wife in Canada were fined $1500 each after the woman was found ‘walking’ her man on a leash.
The incident occurred in Sherbrooke city in Canada’s Quebec province on Saturday night when the woman was caught walk- ing her husband on a leash like a dog at 9 pm, an hour after coron- avirus curfew was imposed.
The 8 pm curfew was imposed by Quebec premier Francois Legault, to contain rising cases of COVID- 19. On January
9, a woman and her husband were found breaking the cur- few.
When asked by cops why she was breaking the curfew, she said that she was within curfew rules to walk out- side of her house till 1 km to walk her dog outside of curfew hours.
When cops point- ed out that her husband was not a dog, the woman reported- ly protested.
Both husband and wife fined $1500 each, even though the woman has reportedly
refused to pay the fine.
Quebec is wrestling with more than 2,500 COVID-19 cases a day, a surge that threatens to increase hospital- izations beyond their spring peak in the next few weeks.
The province imposed a curfew starting Saturday and extended an existing lockdown through Feb 8 to curb the spread of the coron- avirus, as it worked to speed up a vaccination campaign to counter soaring cases of COVID- 19.
Socialite Says He Bought Out Entire Flight To Travel Privately
By Ben Hooper
Jan. 7 (UPI) -- A wealthy Indonesian man who shared pho- tos from a plane where he and his wife were the sole passengers said he bought all available tickets for the flight to prevent exposure to COVID-19.
Richard Muljadi, a Jakarta-based socialite famous for his extrava- gant
lifestyle, posted a series of
photos to his Instagram story showing he and
his wife traveling alone on a Batik Air flight from Jakarta to Bali.
Muljadi said
he bought as many tickets as possible for the flight -- which boasted 12 busi- ness class seats and 150 economy class seats -- because he and his wife, Shalvynne Chang, were "super paranoid" about being exposed to COVID-19.
He did not dis- close how much he paid to keep
the flight private, but he wrote the amount was "still cheaper" than chartering a pri- vate plane.
The Lion Air Group, which operates Batik Air, confirmed Muljadi and Chang were the only passen-
gers on the flight. The company said Muljadi had only booked two tickets in his name, but it was unclear whether he had pur- chased other tick- ets in a separate booking.
