A minister decid- ed that a visual demo would add emphasis to his Sunday sermon.
4 worms were placed in 4 sepa- rate jars.
The first was put in a bottle with alcohol
The second was put in a bottle with cigarette smoke.
The third in a bot- tle with chocolate syrup.
The fourth in a bottle of good clean soil.
At the end of the sermon, the min- ister reported the following results: the first worm in alcohol - dead. the second worm in cigarette smoke - dead. The third in chocolate syrup - dead. The fourth worm in good clean soil - alive.
So the minister asked the congre- gation: “What did you learn from this demo?” Angel, the 8 year old girl sitting at the back raised her hand and said: “As long as
you drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes and eat choco- late, you won’t have worms.”
That pretty much ended the serv- ice.
A guy shows up late for work.
The boss yells, "You should’ve been here at 8.30!"
He replies, "Why? What happened at 8.30?"
The young man comes running into the store and says to his buddy, "Tommy, some- body just stole your pickup truck from the parking lot!'
Tommy reacts, "Did you see who it was?"
The young man answers, "No, I couldn't tell... but I did get his license plate number!"
An older couple was asking for a room with a king, queen or double bed. The clerk apologized and said that the only rooms available had twin beds.
Disappointed, the man remarked, "I don't know. We've been sharing the same bed for 44 years."
"Could you possi- bly put them close together?" the wife asked.
Several people nearby smiled, and someone commented, "How romantic."
Then the woman finished her request with, "Because if he snores, I want him close enough to be able to elbow him."
A tourist parked his car in down- town Washington, D.C. He said to a man standing near the curb, "Listen, I'm going to be only a cou- ple of minutes. Would you watch my car while I run into this store?"
"What?" the man huffed. "Do you realize that I am a member of the United States Congress?"
"Well, no," the tourist said, "I did- n't realize that. But it's all right. I'll trust you anyway."
Transparent- bottom Pool To Open Between London High-rises
By Ben Hooper
April 27 (UPI) -
- A development in London is preparing to open the world's largest freestand- ing acrylic pool structure -- a transparent-bot- tom pool sus- pended 115 feet over the ground.
EcoWorld Ballymore said the Sky
Pool connects the 10th stories of the Embassy Gardens sky- scrapers in
London's Nine Elms neighbor- hood.
The swimming pool, designed to be the world's largest freestand- ing acrylic pool structure, was created by archi- tects Arup Associates, engi- neers Eckersley O'Callaghan and aquarium design- ers Reynolds.
The pool, sched- uled to be offi- cially unveiled in May, is 82 feet long and stretch- es from one
building to the other, with a transparent bot- tom allowing swimmers to look all the way down to the ground.
"Once you swim off, you can look right down. It will be like flying," Brian Eckersley, director of Eckersley O'Callaghan, told CNN.
The pool is 10 feet deep and contains nearly 415 tons of water.
