CompletelyVaccinatedHusbandDeniesToTake MaskOff WhileSexWithHisFullyVaccinatedWife
By Sidrah Naqvi
An immune-com- promised woman claims that her husband has refused to remove his face mask since the out- break began, including during sex.
The woman allegedly sent in the advice letter to Slate, noting that her husband has always been 'a touch prissy' about illnesses but that his dread of becoming sick has become an issue.
"For the last year, he has refused to remove his face mask, even while weareathome- just the two of us," she wrote. This is true even if he has been
fully inoculated against the virus.
"He puts it to sleep, to do most of his bathroom duties, and, yes, even while he's in love." To eat, he pushes it up to expose his
mouth, then quickly lowers it between bites.
"While he does not insist that I do the same, I can tell it bothers him that I don't— especially since I have recently
begun going maskless outside, per CDC guide- lines, and intend on dining inside shortly for a girls' night out."
She claims that when she attempts to con-
vince him that it isn't going to put him in danger, he responds by say- ing that experts don't completely understand the virus yet and that while he realizes it may not be nec- essary, he wants to 'be on the safe side.'
However, she continues to express her dis- satisfaction, stat- ing: "I'd like to see my lovely hus- band's face again. I want to kiss him on the lips roman- tically, not through a piece of fabric, as we used to. (He doesn't replace his mask very often, and
it's frequently stinky and filthy.)
And I don't want to be judged by him for my actions, which I
believe are justi- fied." She expresses con- cern about their future together, with her mother suggesting she should go, signing off 'Masked and Alone.'
Of course, if we accept the letter and assume that we aren't being duped by a spoof email to Slate or by Slate itself, we can only conclude that the individual should probably speak with some- one about his concerns.
According to Slate's agony aunt, her 'hus- band' should see his doctor and seek out a thera- pist to discuss the hazards, and she should use these things as a request.
