CCTV Company Is Paying Remote Workers InIndiaToYell At ArmedRobbersInUS

A Washington- based CCTV company is offer- ing jobs to remote workers in India to monitor stores in the US and yell whenever they see something they deem suspi- cious.
Work from home has become the norm amid the coronavirus pan- demic. While many people are waiting to go back to their offices, some are enjoy- ing the work-from- home model. A US-based CCTV company is offer- ing a job that involves keeping an eye on others on video and yell at them.
Washington- based Live Eye
Surveillance has a surveillance camera system that monitors shops and lets a remote human operator intervene whenever they see something they deem suspi- cious.
In one of the pro- motional videos, Live Eye sends potential cus- tomers, two black-clad rob-
bers, into what appears to be a 7-Eleven store. One of them is carrying an assault rifle. When the clerk starts to open the cash register, the Live Eye system dings and a voice informs the rob- bers that the police have been called. They run out of the store.
The company is
currently hiring a person in Karnal, Haryana for the role of Process Analyst. The posi- tion's job descrip- tion "monitoring sites (Convenience stores, gas sta- tions, etc.) for our end clients/cus- tomers, assisting employees locat- ed overseas remotely via phone or camera, creating reports
for any suspicious activities for employees work- ing at the remote site (overseas) or for customers present at the site, act as a vir- tual supervisor for the sites, in terms of assuring the safety of the employees locat- ed overseas and requesting them to complete assigned tasks." The salary
is $399 (Rs 29,600).
Candidates with the qualifications of having a degree of "12th or above, basic computer skills are required as 100% of the work is on computers, good communica- tion skills, self- learner" can apply.
Live Eye men- tions on its web- site that its mis- sion is "to reduce the risk of busi- ness operations with the need to protect the employee and company assets." The company claims several major corpora- tions as cus- tomers, including 7-Eleven, Shell, Dairy Queen, and Holiday Inn.
