Donald Trump Appears In Front of Fake Seal With Two-headed Eagle, Google Search Blamed
White House offi- cials have been left baffled after a doctored presi- dential seal, fea- turing an eagle clutching golf clubs in its talons instead of arrows, was projected on stage at an event at which US President Donald Trump spoke.
The seal was dis- played on Tuesday (local time) at Turning Point USA's stu- dent summit, where Mr Trump gave a raucous 80-minute speech and was greeted warmly by the youthful audi- ence.
The image includ- ed a two-headed eagle, instead of just one head, which closely resembles the bird on the Russian coat of arms.
The eagle is hold- ing golf clubs in its left talons, instead of the tra-
ditional seal's clutch of arrows, and cash in its right talons, instead of an olive branch.
The actual seal says "E Pluribus Unum", which means "from many one" in Latin, on the ban- ner above the bird's head.
The altered seal said, "45 es un
titere", which in Spanish means "45 is a puppet". Mr Trump is the 45th president of the United States.
In addition, the shield on the bird's chest has hammer-and-sick- le symbols on it.
There were suspi- cions at the White House that the organisers had found the doc-
tored image online and mis- takenly used it, and Turning Point USA has since conceded it was responsible for the gaffe, CNN reported.
A source familiar with the event told the outlet it was "just a terri- ble Google search mistake", and that an audiovisual aide
for the conserva- tive student group was fired as a result.
"One of our video team members did a Google Image search for a high-res png [file] presidential seal," the source told CNN.
The political non- profit group was founded to organ- ise conservative
students on col- lege campuses by Charlie Kirk, an outspoken supporter of Mr Trump.
It maintains a controversial Professor Watchlist of col- lege professors it deems too liberal.
Mr Trump is yet to comment on the gaffe.
