Snow Globes Filled With $1m of Liquid Meth Found In Australia
Liquid meth worth more than AU$1 million (NZ$1.04m) has been discovered by Australian Border Force offi- cers in Sydney, concealed inside a delivery of snow globes from Canada.
Testing of liquid inside the 15 snow globes returned a pre- sumptive positive result for methampheta- mine.
The detection has been referred to the Australian
Federal Police.
ABF NSW region- al commander Danielle Yannopoulos said the ABF has invested heavily in its technologi- cal capability and could see further into each pack- age than ever before.
"Our officers con- tinue to prove, time and time again, that crimi- nals who attempt to hide these substances in new and imagina- tive ways are wasting their
time," Yannopoulos said in a statement.
"It doesn't matter how clever you think your con- cealment is - we can find it."
It's the second notable metham- phetamine drug bust in Sydney within 24 hours.
A man in a van loaded with the drug crashed into two parked police cars, leading them to uncover one of the easiest drug busts in his- tory.
