MATES in Construction marks first birthday
MATES IN CONSTRUCTION marked its first birthday last month at a special event in Auckland.
Says the organisation: “When an organisation is growing so rapidly, you can forget just what you have achieved.
“In the short time we have been around, we now have over 17,0000 industry workers that have the skills to help a mate and reach out for help when
they are struggling.
“A third of these workers have
received a call-back from a MATES Field Officer after training, and we are active on over 250 sites across the country.
“This has all been made possible by the 102 organisations that have funded mates and believe in this journey.
“Every time we see a positive
comment or hear a story about the impact we are making it gives us the drive to continue, so thank you to everyone that is walking alongside us on our undertaking to turn the tide on suicide here in our industry.”
GJ Gardner is the latest business to join the MATES whanau as a Foundation Partner.
