“Better: Simpler:
STRONGER”
Steve Bohling finds Team Blue having learned from the lessons of an unusual and demanding last 30 months emerging better, simpler and stronger from the experience.
PLACEMAKERS TOOK ITS 2022 Conference and Awards to a still regenerating Christchurch and the city’s excellent new Te Pae conference centre.
Over 8-9 August, the conference theme was “Better: Simpler: Stronger” – BETTER for customers; SIMPLER for the team; and STRONGER performance – and we’ll look at what this means beyond Team Blue’s 48 hours in the Garden City below.
With this year’s MC PlaceMakers Trade Associate Manager Daniel Ross, conference also boasted an
impressive pair of external speakers, comprising the inspirational David Letele (aka the Brown Buttabean) on the first day, and Dr Paul Wood on the second, with a challenging, no-holds-barred presentation around growth through adversity.
Both demonstrated the importance of reaching out, both for yourself and on behalf of others, and seeking help to enable positive change, both personally and in the broader community.
“BETTER: SIMPLER: STRONGER”
On Day One, at his first conference as PlaceMakers General Manager Operations, Shane Cornelius outlined what “Better: Simpler: Stronger” meant for the attendees and broader organisation.
“Better” stands for better for PlaceMakers’ customers, “Simpler” is about making life less complicated for the PlaceMakers team and “Stronger” relates to being better suited to the market.
