GJ’s goes Checkmate to keep credit in check
New Zealand’s largest commercial credit bureau, CreditWorks Group, is delighted to announce the support
of NZ’s largest and most successful building group, GJ Gardner Homes, for its new Checkmate commercial credit reporting tool.
CheckMate is a web-based platform that helps people make informed decisions about who they do business with by running a very low-cost, fast, yet comprehensive, commercial credit report on any New Zealand company.
Each CheckMate report provides a Credit Score out of 1,000, the likelihood of failure in the next 18 months (as a simple percentage), as well as other useful information.
GJ’s Grant Porteous says of the company’s decision: “CheckMate’s launch has come at an ideal time, as the building industry experiences unprecedented levels of uncertainty.
“Builders with poor systems and weak balance sheets (retained funds capital) will struggle in these times as we sadly so often see.”
CheckMate should be of particular interest not only to trade suppliers and sub-contractors in the construction sector, but anyone engaging the services of builders and other trades.
“Before you do business with a contractor, check them out, or if you’re doing business already, monitor their ongoing activity and credit exposure in the marketplace as circumstances may change, and not necessarily through their own actions,” says CreditWorks’ Ronnie Tan.
