Gardening goes deluxe
YOU OFTEN HEAR there’s always room for a bit of indulgence and that demand for super luxury brands, super top-end houses etc, continues at elevated levels, even in straightened times.
Now, thanks to Swedish start-up Garden Glory, the term “indulgence” can be applied to many of the garden items that most mortals consider purely functional – watering cans, hoses and fittings, even trowels and shovels. Garden Glory’s products could equally be described as whimsical, with bird claw and deer antler-shaped hose tidies and watering cans and
bird feeders taking the form of giant diamond rings.
Of course a lot of these products from Sweden can be colour coordinated – the hoses come in Rusty Rose
(pink), Eucalyptus Leaf (grey-green), Caribbean Kiss (soft blue), as well as
white, black and grey.
The hoses naturally can be matched
with nozzles and fittings that complement, coordinate or contrast (think snakeskin or leopard skin effects)...
Pricing is elevated but not Bugatti level however, the hoses coming in at around $150, the antler hose tidies around $350
(both NZ Dollars).
Garden Glory’s products are available
direct online, as well as at premium, design-focused retailers like Le Bon Marché in Paris and Selfridges in London, as well as in a pop-up space at Macy’s in New York.
