hand & power tools & accessories
Having said that, Ben believes there’s more to come for Ox Tools: “It’s not what our competitors want to hear, but there’s plenty of opportunity for more market share, to be honest.
“We won’t have a problem if we stay true to our mantra, which is ‘tough, dynamic, different, trade-targeted, innovative, hardcore...
“No-one is rolling out the same level of innovation or amount of innovation and different products in the hand tools space,” he states boldly.
“KIWI AS” A MARKET ADVANTAGE
Delfast Marketing Manager Jeremy Currie is less bullish but equally positive.
How has demand been for Delfast, as forecast or a bit lumpy?
Business has been “probably more than we expected – that was definitely the case for last year,” he says.
Construction is obviously booming, although Delfast among others thought Covid would make for an industry slowdown.
“If we were to be completely honest, we didn’t see that coming. So, it’s actually been really good,” says Jeremy, adding that Delfast did have to rethink its stocking position as a result.
Delfast, like Ox Tools, believes in its brand and, says Jeremy Currie, users and commercial partners do too.
“Number one, we are 100% New Zealand owned and operated and I think that makes a huge, huge difference, especially when you’re dealing face to face.
“We’re from New Zealand and we get the New Zealand market. And I think that makes a huge difference.”

 Improving the hole saw breed
Fox & Gunn now has the patented QuickCore hole saw system, which comes complete with a raft of advantages over conventional hole saws.
QuickCore promises higher productivity with up to 10 times faster core ejection, thanks to its pump action removing drilled out material without the need for something to prise it out.
QuickCore also promises faster change-out, again without the use of other tools.
With the system’s M42/cobalt bi-metal construction making for easy cutting into wood, metal, plastic and stainless steel, a single mandrel fits all hole saw diameters.
With a 48mm depth of cut, individual QuickCore sizes range from 16mm to 152mm and there is also a 13-piece kit available. Plus, if you’d like to convert your old hole saws to QuickCore,
Fox & Gunn also has an adaptor.

Milwaukee reveals “next gen” M18 angled finishing nailer
Milwaukee’s M18 FUEL 15 and 16 gauge angled finishing nailers, bring with them improved nailing performance in a wider range of temperature conditions, as well as superior visibility and access.
Featuring Milwaukee’s POWERSTATE brushless motor and REDLINK intelligence (overload protection to prevent damage in heavy-duty situations and the discharge protection to prevent cell damage), these nailers deliver precision fastening with zero ramp-up time for the firing response of a pneumatic nailer.
In terms of productivity gains, with even the smallest M18 REDLITHIUM-ION 2.0Ah battery pack, Milwaukee says its M18 FUEL 15 and 16 gauge angled finishing nailers will fire up to 750 nails per charge.
