After all, while PlaceMakers’ customers care passionately about “their” reps and about having a “home branch”, they’re agnostic about where their delivery starts out, says Bruce McEwen.
Not that this will happen overnight,
he emphasises, nor will it happen everywhere: “I guess the purpose of talking about this is for people to start realising that their world needs to change.
“The old everything-happens-in-our- branch mentality is going to change in our industry... It certainly it is for us.
“I think if we don’t start thinking this way as opportunities present themselves we won’t act [and] we’ll just continue to perpetuate the past.”
