MORE IMPROVEMENTS
TO BISCOUNT BUSINESS MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE
2019 STARTED OFF as a year of
significant change for Biscount, not only for the team working behind the scenes but also for the product offering itself which has been used by outdoor power equipment dealers over the past 28 years.
The retirement of the original founder and subsequent change of ownership, launch of a new business webpage
and significant changes to the look
and feel of the software itself, have let existing and prospective dealerships around the country know that Biscount will continue to make positive steps
in the right direction and remain a strong player within the outdoor power industry.
According to Biscount’s Marketing & Sales Manager, Steve Fairbrother, the initial changes have been well received: “A customer survey confirmed that our in-house planning and the direction we’re pursuing is directly correlated with what our dealers need from their business management software.”
Changes in the pipeline for
Australasian dealers include a customisable main screen with a
fresh new look that allows icons to be positioned or hidden, the inclusion
of additional PDF invoice formats for automatic stock receiving, the launch of a new website and an integration with the Xero accounting package.
“Our mandate has always been
to add functionality that dealers request and will benefit them the most,” says Steve Fairbrother. “We are excited for the future and have
a number of enhancements in mind to make our dealers more profitable and confirm that their decision to use Biscount to power their business is a wise one.”
Biscount is available to rent at an affordable monthly price which includes start-up training, ongoing program support and program updates and
has interfaces to a number of supplier ordering systems and supports electronic stock receiving from 65+ suppliers.

Fore! Auto mower on the fairway!
EARLIER THIS YEAR, John Deere
announced an exclusive agreement to develop autonomous mowing solutions for the golf and sports turf industry with Netherlands-based autonomous technology specialists Precision Makers.
More recently, in Illinois in July during its annual Golf Technology Preview, John Deere showed off a practical implementation of this new partnership in the form of a prototype autonomous fairway mower.
The prototype was based on John Deere’s 7500A fairway mower but fitted with GPS and set in advance with fairway mapping and routing. Sensors to the front and back detect obstacles and allow the machine to steer around them.
Billed as designed to help counter the growing cost and availability of skilled labour, demonstrator units will be doing the rounds of US golf courses during 2020 but a fully marketable product isn’t expected any time soon.
