Common sense consenting – New exemptions to the Building Act will
remove the need for consents for single- storey detached buildings up to 30m2 described as “low-risk building work” such as sleep-outs, sheds and carports. e new exemptions are expected to commence at the end of August, after the necessary changes to the Building Act have been made. Exempt building work is still required to comply with the Building Act and the Building Code, it’s worth noting.
OSM returns to Matamata – Spanbild Group, the owner of the Concision o - site manufacturing (OSM) operation
in Rolleston, has announced a new Concision factory for Matamata. Eventually employing up to 30 sta , the new facility was scheduled to open in mid-June this year and takes Concision’s capacity to 1000+ homes a year, along with schools, transportable classrooms, social housing and other community and commercial buildings.
