COMMERCIAL BRUSHCUTTER, MOWERS “THE REAL DEAL”
With the launch of the UMK450 Commercial Brushcutter
(right), now there’s a Honda brushcutter with even more power. And, with its 50cc 4 stroke engine you can forget about oil mixing. The straight shaft and bull handle make this unit ideal for large scale brushcutting and clearing, plus with its three-toothed steel blade, gorse, bamboo and other large bush will fall at your feet.
The new UMK450 has a focus on operator comfort. The GX50 Honda engine that powers the unit is not only lightweight (4.13kg) but can also be used at any angle due to its 360° fully inclinable design. This provides ultimate manoeuvrability during use and there are no restrictions for how you store it – stand it up in the shed, lay it flat in the ute, it will start first time, every time.
Adding even more comfort is an ergonomically designed double harness which delivers control and balance and is designed to work with the action of the bull handle to reduce operator fatigue – essential when clearing large sections.
UMK450 is targeted towards farmers, lifestyle block owners and contractors with large workloads. It’s not your suburban back yard weed whacker, it’s the real deal.
Commercial contractors also have two Honda contractor mowers to choose from – the 19-inch HRU196 (above left) and 21-inch HRU216 (above right). Both are powered by the cast iron bore, 5.5 horsepower, 160cc, Honda GXV160 4 stroke engine, so there is no messing about with fuel mixing, it’s economical and also better for emissions.
With safety as well as speed top of mind, the HRU216 also comes with blade and engine brake technology. With the engine brake engaged you can quickly empty the large 70 litre Dacron catcher bag without restarting – only the blades stop, not the engine.

Let there be light
The new NARVA Rechargeable Head
Torch stands out from run-of-the-mill torches with its powerful white, green and red LED lights.
Courtesy of two COB LEDs, the head torch produces a 180 Lumen flood beam light that provides a 120-degree beam angle. A secondary arc shaped COB LED also provides the option of a lower intensity (120 Lumen) flood beam for when less light is required.
Additionally, the head torch is equipped
with a spotlight function, red (620nm) and green (520nm) light functions for added versatility, a removable magnetised lamp base, motion activation, a glow in the dark locator and brightness memory function, IP65 dust and water resistance and fast charging.
Also now being introduced to New Zealand by is a new range of NARVA Safety Lights designed to enhance work safety around a range of machines and equipment such as forklifts, elevated work platforms, excavators, loaders, tractors etc.
Depending on the model, each projects an intense light to the front, sides, or in zones around the vehicles, clearly alerting people on the ground of their presence, particularly when equipment is changing direction, reversing or emerging from a hidden area.
There are three options available in the new Safety Light range: a 10-60V Blue Spot model; a 9-80V Red Safety Line Lamp; and a 9-64V Red Safety Zone Lamp. All models feature high power Cree 3W L.E.Ds for maximum visibility.
