• Rest of South Island: 3,760 (+11%).
Note that residential growth in the Waikato has again outstripped growth in Auckland, this time for the second month in a row.
Turning to non-residential, YTD September 2019, the building types with the highest values were:
• Education: $1.1 billion (+3.7%)
• Shops, restaurants & bars: $1.0
billion (+2.3%)
• Offices, administration & public transport: $997 million (+8.7%)
• Social, cultural & religious: $996
million (+54%).
Looking ahead, data for the value of building work put in place for the September 2019 quarter are scheduled for 5 December while consent numbers for October were to be released on 29 November and those for November 2019 on 14 January.
