commercial Lithium-ion solution
for contractors that includes the industry’s first tool-less, quick-change battery system for all-day run time. The Pro-Turn EV can tackle up to 15 acres on a single charge and has been designed to have the same feel and power as petrol models.
Powerful spindle motors ensure the blade speed does not drop during heavy cutting and the drive system delivers performance that matches existing
commercial models. Maintenance is limited, with no belts, pulleys, spindles

The PT-EV will feature a five-year/1500- hour warranty with no hour limit for

The other area generating sales for the Tauranga firm is rear discharge mowing decks, a specialist requirement which, although Andrew Peacocke says is now “considered essential in some commercial applications”, isn’t always being given the focus it requires for it to be truly effective.
“Councils often require rear discharge
for safety reasons to avoid throwing objects out the side of the mower towards people or into property.
“It is also the preference in some horticultural applications such as kiwifruit orchards. They want to avoid throwing the grass and debris into the vine trunks, where it can cause damage, or into the long grass which still needs to be mowed.”
Grasshopper has developed a dedicated rear discharge mowing deck with a fourth blade which helps break up and distribute the grass behind the machine so end users can mow at high speeds in longer growth.
“This set-up,” says Peacocke, “is vastly superior to a side discharge deck converted to mulching or a coverable side/rear discharge combo deck. They often don’t do either job well.” n
