Hansa on the up and up, despite February fire
  Welcome
to a new year
It seems a long time since our last
magazine in November.
Back then, here in Auckland we were still
at Alert Level 3.2 but were delighted to be relatively unconstrained over Christmas.
Famous last words.
Having welcomed in the New Year, along came a new strain of the virus.
Since then, we’ve been in and – hopefully (I’m writing this 48 hours before the next big announcement!) – out the other side of the traffic light system.
Our thoughts go out to everyone who has been touched by the pandemic one way or another, personally or at work.
Our next magazine is out in July – we’ll see you then!

       HANSA PRODUCTS’ GO-AHEAD
plans were temporarily dented following a large fire at its Hamilton headquarters on Saturday 12 February 2022.
Mercifully, nobody was injured in the fire, but the company described the event soon afterwards as “an unexpected knockback,”
at the same time stressing that the team would “work hard to recover and come back stronger.”
Indeed, towards the end of last year, the company had been talking enthusiastically about the expansion of its activities
in Europe, specifically into Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxemburg.
Hansa had also attended the SALTEX trade show in England and here in New Zealand news had come through that all 80 STIHL SHOPs were going to stock best- selling items from the Hansa range.
STIHL SHOP`s Retail Network Manager Mark Ballantine, said pre-Christmas: “It’s great to be supporting a local brand that
is a trusted name, with loyalty, quality and serviceability that mirrors the STIHL SHOP ethos.”
Although the fire will affect some or all
of the above, the team at Hansa has the willpower and the smarts to get the operation back on track in the coming months.
OPE ANNIVERSARIES
“While this event has been an unexpected knockback, we have a resilient team that has a clear vision to come back stronger,” says MD Martin Vogel.
Luckily, although damaged, the firm’s new 2,000m2 building extension (main photo above) didn’t suffer any structural damage so it will soon be home to Hansa’s manufacturing and could take the company back to pre-fire levels of output.
In the meantime, Hansa has been working out of eight different locations around Hamilton to get the team back to work and resume some limited manufacturing, initially of its garden
and lifestyle product ranges, followed by commercial models.
The last stage of recovery, adds Martin Vogel, “is to rebuild the building that we lost in the fire to allow us to deliver on our growth plans.
“While this event has been an unexpected knockback, we have a resilient team that has a clear vision to come back stronger.”
Indeed, Hansa started delivering on orders just a week or so after the fire.

Oleo-Mac celebrates half century with special editions
2022 MARKS 50 years in business for Oleo-Mac, half a century of experience that the
Italy-based company wants to celebrate with the dealers and customers who have made it possible to reach such an important milestone.
To help with this, the company has created a website dedicated to the 50th anniversary which will remain online throughout the year featuring a timeline retracing the stages and successes in our history, and a bulletin board which will be constantly updated with posts relating to the event.
In fact, anyone can contribute to the
limited-edition chainsaw (GS 451 50y) and a brushcutter (SPARTA 441 T 50y).
