Fieldays recognised – virtually
FIELDAYS ONLINE HAS been
selected as a Finalist in the Best COVID-19 Response for an Event category at the 2021 NZ Events Association (NZEA) New Zealand Event Awards.
This category received a quarter of the record 108 entries received by NZEA, so this is exciting recognition for Fieldays’ virtual platform, which is now an extension of the physical Fieldays event at Mystery Creek.
Fieldays Online was created in 108 days when the physical 2020 event to be held at Mystery Creek couldn’t go ahead due to COVID-19 restrictions.
It attracted 90,455 total digital visitors, with attendees from over 75 different countries, while nearly 300 exhibitors hosted digital sites.
The virtual event was created in partnership with Satellite Media, and supported by Trade Me, which connected some Fieldays exhibitors with e-commerce capabilities.
Fieldays Online is now a virtual extension of the physical event, allowing visitors to attend the event from the comfort of their own homes.
Fieldays exhibitors are onboarded to an online platform, allowing then to promote their products and services, offer deals, and generate content.
Peter Nation, Chief Executive of the New Zealand National Fieldays Society, says he is delighted that the team’s hard work is being recognised.
“Launching Fieldays Online was no small feat – the team created the platform out of necessity under trying circumstances, and it is now a vital component of our digital roadmap moving forward.”
The winners of the 2021 New Zealand Event Awards will be announced on Tuesday
14 December at the 2021 NZEA NZ Event Awards Gala Evening at Toitoi Hawke’s Bay Arts & Events Centre in Hastings, which is being held in conjunction with the Eventing the Future Conference.
