 The Station in 2008
- Di Mo
Cultural Studies (CCCU)- year 1
This kind of bleak weather will remind you of a distant station, a distant woman waiting for a bus,
and the distant 2008.
She left work at four and was still crowded at the station at six. There were off-duty workers all around.
How can she squeeze past others?
She held her hand in front of her body
and the bulge of her belly was already evident.
The station was so crowded that it looked like a ferry full of refugees Who would look out for a woman’s belly?
The year 2008 is far away.
The old factory station is far away.
A bus full of workers finally pulls off.
You can see she is still crowded out of the platform.
After I left the old factory,
I spent eleven years
and countless quiet hours
trying to make my memories disappear.
I wanted to erase the evening,
to erase this unpleasant image,
to erase the tears and hopelessness of the woman, to erase the damned station.
I could not change the bleak and cold of that year and the incompetence of my whole life.
