running and we made it!
“We’re here!” Lou shouts, as if all of the words she’s trapped gushed out.
“We’re free!” I yell as I leap through the rock into the nothing that we’ve been yearning for. Lou’s grip loosened, but it didn’t feel like she wanted to let go. I turned my head around with all I have left, just to see those irksome people in white pulling her away. The last I saw before- nothing.
*One year later*
A year of waiting. A year without a body. I don’t know what I’m waiting for anymore. They took her away, and probably put her in isolation or something.
The sky’s being painted. The trail we ran through, it’s empty. They covered it, making sure no human can come in. The humans are cruel. What are they doing to Lou? Does she think of me too? I’m so sorry, I should’ve let you go first. I’d love to visit, but what’s the point if you can’t see me?
I want one more chance, one more chance of everything-
“El-Eliza?”
It’s like I could hear her quivery voice calling me. Please, give me one more chance-
“Eliza!” The voice got closer, almost like she’s running towards me. I didn’t know I could still halluci- nate.
Two hands suddenly wrapped around me from behind, the two hands that I’ve waited a whole year for.
“Lou! Y-you can see me? But, how? Didn’t they lock you up? How did you-”
“I made sure I’d see you again before a year passes by, and I knew you’d be here. She said as her arms wrap tighter, her face gleaming with excitement.
“Nothing matters anymore”.
